Quest For A Better Life DVD

The video, "Quest For a Better Life: A Brief History of Six Generations of Olsons," is a fascinating, professionally produced account of the Olson family beginning with Blixt and Kristina Olson, who emigrated from Sweden to begin a new life in the land of opportunity.

If you would like to learn more about the history of your family, there is no better way than to bring home a copy of this DVD.

We need to have about 50 preorders to justify a pressing for the upcoming family reunion so if you would like a copy, please place a preorder when you register. The cost should be about US$30.

About the DVD

Cover of Family History DVD

Beginning in Bäck, Sweden in the province of Dalarna, the video -- in over 300 photos selected from among 1,000 collected from members of the Olson clan -- traced the lives of Blixt and Kristina from Sweden to Ironwood, Michigan, and across America to a homestead near Malo, Washington, where the family grew and prospered. The 7 children were joined by their many descendents down to the 6th generation on the screen in a magnificent tribute to the Blixt and Kristina legacy.

The video captures on film for our generation, as well as for generations to come, the history of our heritage in a medium that can be enjoyed again and again. Lyndon Olson Jr., Olson family member and former U.S. Ambassador to Sweden, applauded the video as ‘an incredible piece of work’.

The Olson story is followed in the video by live scenes of the 1997 Olson Family Reunion in Port Ludlow, Washington.

The original video, produced in a professional studio in Studio City, California, was recorded on VHS tape, but has since been converted to DVD.
